Carol Stocks

Carol Stocks, M.H.S.A., R.N., is a program analyst with CDOM who serves as alternate project officer for the Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project (HCUP), a Federal-State-industry partnership in health care data. She provides assistance and support to HCUP partner organizations and serves as coordinator for the HCUP Steering Committee. She assists senior staff conducting health care research with experience in the areas of nurse staffing data, emergency department care, vulnerable populations, access to care, and mental health and substance abuse care in community hospitals. Ms. Stocks serves as an Agency resource for policies on data security and protection of privacy in health care data, especially as it relates to use of administrative data, and is responsible for many activities related to the privacy, security and confidentiality of HCUP data. Ms. Stocks received her B.S.N. from George Mason University, and has extensive experience in hospital nursing. She received her Master of Health Services Administration from George Washington University. She is currently a student in the Ph.D. program at the Uniformed Services University, Graduate School of Nursing in Bethesda, Maryland.
