Michael Hagan

Michael Hagan has been a staff economist and project officer on grants and contracts at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ)/Agency for Health Care Policy and Research (AHCPR) since 1991. He was previously employed with Johns Hopkins University, the Social Security Administration, the Urban Institute, and the Agency's predecessor, the National Center for Health Services Research. Mr. Hagan's research and published work focused on the economics of disability and employer-based health insurance. At present, his extramural research portfolio includes projects examining recent supply-side changes in health care markets and organization, with emphasis on research relating to the implementation of recent healthcare reform legislation. Mr. Hagan has a B.A. and Ph.D. candidacy in economics from the University of Maryland. He is the extramural contact for research priorities under the Agency's "Value" Portfolio.
