Center for Primary Care, Prevention, and Clinical Partnerships (CP3)
Health Information Technology
CP3 is the home of the Agency's health information technology (health IT) initiatives. Current programs focus on the role of health IT and health information exchange in health care quality improvement, safety, and effectiveness.
AHRQ works collaboratively with Federal partners as well as the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC), and the American Health Information Community (AHIC) on initiatives that include consumer empowerment, quality improvement, and privacy and confidentiality. AHRQ’s initiatives explore the links between technology and care delivery, seeking to document how clinicians can best prepare for, implement, and exploit the potential benefits of health IT investments.
