Rhode Island RIte Care Program

Tricia Leddy, Director of the Rhode Island Department of Human Service’s Office Managed Care, discussed the benefits and service delivery systems of the RIte Care program. RIte Care, begun in 1994 through a 1115 waiver, has provided health care coverage to children up to age 9 and pregnant women up to 250 percent of Federal Poverty Level (FPL). Implementation of Title XXI has allowed RIte Care to expand coverage to children ages 9-18 up to 250 percent of FPL and parents up to 185 percent of FPL.
