Figure 2. Screening and Treating Adults for Lipid Disorders: Epidemiology

Figure shows mean high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol values by race and gender. Mean HDL for white men in all age ranges is 45 or below. Mean HDL for black men in all age ranges is around 50. Mean HDL for white women in all age ranges is around 55. Mean HDL for black women under age 55 is also around 55, but rises to near 60 for age ranges 55 to 74.
