National Guideline Clearinghouse™ (NGC)
NGC is a database and Web site for information on evidence-based clinical practice guidelines. NGC is sponsored by AHRQ to promote widespread access to clinical practice guidelines; in fact, it is the “go to place” to find guidelines. It was originally created by AHRQ in partnership with the American Medical Association and the American Association of Health Plans (now America’s Health Insurance Plans [AHIP]).
The NGC mission is to provide an accessible mechanism for obtaining detailed information on clinical practice guidelines, and to further their dissemination, implementation, and use in order to inform health care decisions.

The NGC provides structured, standardized summaries containing information about evidence-based clinical practice guidelines and their development and implementation, for each guideline that meets NGC criteria for inclusion. The summaries are prepared by a dedicated team using the NGC Template of Guideline Attributes and associated Glossary and Classification Scheme.
The NGC site also has syntheses of guidelines, expert commentaries, links to guideline resources, and NGC-specific technical assistance videos. Users can find content using the guideline matrix feature and/or multiple browse and search options. Users can also generate comparisons of guidelines; submit guidelines and comments on the posted expert commentaries; and create their own experience with the site through the MyNGC feature.

You may also set up an account to track questions or receive updates with the My Inquiries feature.
If you are an author of a forthcoming AHRQ publication and need information on what copyright permissions you will need to obtain to include non-AHRQ material, go to Appendix 1-A of the AHRQ Publishing and Communications Guidelines.
The NGC is designed for physicians and other health professionals, health care providers, health plans, integrated delivery systems, purchasers, and others interested in evidence-based clinical practice.
The NGC works with an Expert Panel and an Editorial Board.
