This image shows hospital discharge rates for lower extremity amputations. It compares those with diabetes and no diabetes at a rate per 1,000. Between Ages 18-44, 3.4 with diabetes, and 0.02 with no diabetes. Between Ages 45-64, 7.5 with diabetes, and 0.16 with no diabetes. Between Ages 65-74, 9.8 with diabetes, and 0.62 with no diabetes. Ages 75 and up, 15.6 with diabetes, and 1.78 with no diabetes.
