Figure 1-1: Areas Included in Data Book (Text Description)

The figure is a map of the United States, with shading to indicate where data were collected for Book I. Data were collected from urban and rural areas along the Atlantic Coast, from Minnesota and Wisconsin south to Arkansas along the west bank of the Mississippi River, along the Pacific Coast, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Colorado, and Kansas. Book I does not include data from the Upper Midwest, the Ohio Valley, or the southern tier of States. Urban counties are shaded in light blue and rural counties in a darker blue color.
