The figure is a map of the counties in the State of Georgia showing the rate for each county of preventable hospitalizations per 1,000 residents ages 40-64 in 1999. The counties with the highest rates (43 to 74.4) were concentrated in the east-central and south-central part of the State in 1999. The counties with the lowest rates (8.1 to 20) were concentrated around Atlanta.
