Project Description: The goal of this research was
to improve the use of colorectal cancer (CRC) screening in primary care
settings. The investigator focused specifically on how to improve physician
recommendations and communications in colorectal cancer screening, and how to
reduce patient barriers and facilitate patient decision-making for CRC
screening.
Career Goals: Dr. Hawley is an Assistant
Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Baylor College
of Medicine. She received her M.P.H. from Yale University and her Ph.D. in Health
Policy/Health Services Research from the University of North Carolina (UNC) School of Public Health in Chapel Hill, NC. Her health services research career focuses on cancer prevention and
control.
