Project Description: This project measured and evaluated patient-focused outcomes; health-related quality of lie and lost workplace and non-workplace productivity.  The research objectives were to:

  1. Validate a patient-focused primary headache questionnaire.
  2. Determine methodologies for valuing lost productivity.
  3. Determine patient outcomes using the validated questionnaire Develop a predictive model to determine the variables associated with decreased health-related quality of life and increased lost productivity for patients with primary headache.
  4. Develop a proposal for a healthcare program to improve patients' health-related quality of life and decrease lost productivity.

Career Goals: Dr. Lofland received her PharmD from the University of Maryland, Baltimore and did her pharmacy residency at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.  She went on to earn her M.P.H. and Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University.  She is currently in the Department of Health Policy at Thomas Jefferson University.  Dr. Lofland continues to do research in the area of patient focused outcomes.
