Abstract:
This guide contains highlights from the Clinical Practice Guideline on cancer pain management. It
presents selected aspects of evaluating and managing pain in adults with cancer pain. Topics include initial
assessment, pharmacologic treatment, administration of medications, side effects of medications, adjuvant
medications, cognitive-behavioral interventions, and discussion of other more invasive palliative techniques. A
drug dosing table and forms assist clinicians and patients in describing and assessing pain.

This guide helps practitioners remember the major points in managing cancer pain.
