Project Description: There are three main aims for this research:
- Characterize implementation leaders’ behaviors, and develop hypotheses about the relationship between their behaviors and implementation success.
- Examine relationships between workforce engagement, implementation success, and clinical performance.
- Examine the impact of hospitals’ use of various learning activities on implantation success and clinical performance.
Career Goals: Dr. Nembhard is an Assistant Professor, Division of Health Policy and Administration, Department of Epidemiology and Public Health, at the Yale University School of Medicine. She is also an Assistant Professor in the Yale University School of Management. She received her PhD in health Policy-Management from Harvard University and then did a Post-doc in Healthcare Management at the Harvard Business School. The grantee’s long-term career goal is to become an independent researcher who improves patient safety and quality of care through theoretical and empirical research on how aspects of organizational behavior and management affect the implementation of new practices in health care organizations and clinical outcomes.
