The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) has launched a program to help front-line nursing home staff reduce the occurrence of in-house pressure ulcers, providing residents with more efficient, effective, and patient-centered care. Pressure ulcers can pose particularly overwhelming challenges for long-term care professionals. The prevalence of pressure ulcers in individual facilities can range from 2.5 percent to 24 percent, depending on the facility. The On-Time Quality Improvement for Long-Term Care program is an innovative program designed to improve day-to-day practice in nursing homes, improve and redesign workflow, enrich work culture, and reduce pressure ulcers.
This streaming presentation provides testimonials from nursing home staff and administrators from different facilities who have worked with the On-Time program. It includes commentary on the advantages of implementation and the resulting quality improvement.
The following Web conference features presentations by experts and participating staff and a question and answer forum.
