First- vs. Second-Generation Antipsychotics

A continuing-education monograph is now available that compares individual first- and second-generation antipsychotic medications in adults with schizophrenia, schizophrenia-related psychoses, or bipolar disorder.

Based on a comparative effectiveness review from AHRQ’s Effective Health Care Program, the monograph reviews evidence comparing the effectiveness and side effects of individual drugs and lists questions for patients and health care providers to consider before choosing a treatment.
