Just Released! 2009 Kids' Inpatient Database (KID)

  • The KID is the only all-payer dataset on children's use of hospital services in the United States.
  • Contains pediatric inpatient hospital discharge data (including those admissions that started in the ED [emergency department]) from a sample of pediatric discharges in 44 participating Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project (HCUP) States.
  • Allows for national and regional studies of inpatient hospital utilization and charges for newborns, children, and adolescents.
