Promoting a Healthy Workforce

Web Conference

One of the greatest challenges that consumers face in making health care decisions is finding reliable and practical data that can inform these decisions. Employers and other purchasers of health care can help by pointing their employees and members to trusted sources of information about health care.

Overview

The Promoting a Healthy Workforce Web conference was originally broadcast on Monday, June 1, 2009. Presentations focused on tools to support effective workplace wellness programs and resources that employers and other purchasers can share with employees to help them manage their health. Employers, employer coalitions, other purchasers, and consumers were invited to join experts from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) to discuss how patient-focused guides, videos, and other tools such as recommendations from the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force and the Comparative Effectiveness Research Guides for Consumers can support employees who want to be more active and involved in their health care.

This Web conference featured presentations from:

  • Lia Hotchkiss, Comparative Effectiveness Research Portfolio Lead, AHRQ.
  • Allan J. Lazar, Director, Office of Communications and Knowledge Transfer, AHRQ.
  • Tess Miller, Director, Prevention & Care Management Portfolio, Center for Primary Care, Prevention & Clinical Partnerships, AHRQ.
