AHRQ Stats: Adult asthma rates nearly doubled in past decade

The number of U.S. adults treated for asthma nearly doubled between 1998–1999 and 2008–2009, from 5.5 million to 10.3 million, while asthma drug expenditures quadrupled from $2.5 billion to $10.2 billion.
