Minnesota Health Network Uses AHRQ Video for Mandatory Patient Safety Training

Patient Safety

2008

Park Nicollet Health Services, based in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, is using AHRQ's Questions Are the Answer video as part of its patient safety training course. The course is a mandatory education requirement for clinical providers, support staff, and frontline patient care staff.

Tony Stith, e-Learning Developer at Park Nicollet, notes, "Any media that make our courses more enjoyable is always a winner with staff. This is the first video that Park Nicollet has incorporated into its e-learning course."

The online training began in 2008. Over 7,000 staff members will complete the course annually. Park Nicollet Health Services includes Methodist Hospital, Park Nicollet Clinic, Park Nicollet Foundation, and Park Nicollet Institute.

"We've received many positive comments about the video. It really does enhance staff learning at Park Nicollet,"says Stith.

The Questions Are the Answer campaign was developed by AHRQ in conjunction with the Ad Council. The campaign encourages patients to become more active in their health care by asking questions.
