SNAC-recommended Initial Core Set, September 18, 2009

This report presents a brief summary of the processes used by the the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) National Advisory Council on Healthcare Research and Quality Subcommittee (SNAC) on Children's Healthcare Quality Measures for Medicaid and Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) to identify an initial core set of children's healthcare quality measures for recommendation to the AHRQ National Advisory Council on Healthcare Research and Quality (NAC). The report includes the measures recommended by SNAC at the end of their last meeting on September 18, 2009, after which the measures were reported to the NAC, AHRQ'S director, and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

On December 29, 2009, the Secretary, Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) posted the secretary's recommended list of . The background paper at http://www.ahrq.gov/chipra/corebackgrnd.htm summarizes the changes made to the set between the September SNAC meeting and the posting for public comment.
