Access to Health Care

• Disparities in access to care are staying the same or increasing.

A bar chart shows disparities in access to care improving, staying the same, or worsening for five variables. The variables on the horizontal axis are: Black vs. White (n = 5), Asian vs. White (n = 5), American Indian or Alaska Native (AI/AN) vs. White (n = 4), Hispanic vs. Non-Hispanic White (n = 5), and Poor vs. High Income (n = 7), where n is the number of core measures. The vertical axis shows percentage of core measures improving, staying the same, or worsening.

The approximate percentage for each variable is as follows:

Black vs. White (n = 5): worsening—40% (2), same—20% (1), improving—40% (2).
Asian vs. White (n = 5): worsening—40% (2), same—20% (1), improving—40% (2).
AI/AN vs. White (n = 4): worsening—0% (0), same—25% (1), improving—75% (3).
Hispanic vs. Non-Hispanic White (n = 5): worsening—40% (2), same—40% (2), improving—20% (1).
Poor vs. High Income (n = 7): worsening—43% (3), same—14% (1); improving—43% (3).
