AHRQ'S new quality indicators are coming!

Beginning this fall, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality will make available a series of Web-based, user-friendly indicators for improving the quality of inpatient and ambulatory health care. The first to be announced will be AHRQ's prevention/access indicators, followed by mortality/utilization indicators and lastly the Agency's patient safety/complications indicators. These indicators resulted from a refinement and expansion of the original Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project (HCUP) Quality Indicators by the University of California, San Francisco-Stanford Evidence-based Practice Center.
