Appendix C Diagram (Text Description)

This diagram represents a simple dispensing vaccination center (DVC) layout and shows how to calculate a station-specific average flow in that DVC. Circles represent individual stations within the DVC. At the top is numbered circle 1. Above it is RDVC, representing the overall patient flow for the DVC. An arrow from circle 1 proceeds to circle 2 on the left, then to circle 3 under circle 2 and to circle 4 under circle 3. Circle 4 is the station for which the station specific average flow is being calculated. These arrows are highlighted to indicate the pathway a patient would follow from entrance to the DVC to circle 4. The arrows are designated p1, p2, p3, and p4. An un-highlighted arrow proceeds from circle 1 to a blank circle on the right, then to another blank circle under that one. Un-highlighted arrows also extend from circles 2 and 3 to blank circles to the left.
