2010 National Healthcare Quality and Disparities Reports

The National Healthcare Quality Report (NHQR) is a comprehensive national overview of quality of health care in the United States. It is organized around four dimensions of quality of care: effectiveness, patient safety, timeliness, and patient centeredness.

a Received prescription medication for mental health treatment/counseling refers to having received prescription medication for problems with emotions, nerves, or mental health. Respondents who received treatment for drug or alcohol use or had missing treatment or counseling information are excluded.

b Metropolitan refers to all metropolitan areas; Large central and fringe metro, central and suburban counties in metro area of 1 million or more population; Medium metro, counties in metro area of 250,000 to less than 1,000,000; Small metro, counties in metro area of less than 250,000 population; Nonmetropolitan, all nonmetropolitan areas.

DSU - Data do not meet the criteria for statistical reliability, data quality, or confidentiality.

Key: AI/AN: American Indian or Alaska Native; NHOPI: Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander; SE: standard error.
