Mark Loafman, M.D., M.P.H., Associate Professor of Family and Community Medicine at Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine and Chief Medical Officer for Near North Community Health Center. Dr Loafman has served on the faculty for several national health disparities collaboratives and is Project Lead for the National Patient Safety and Clinical Pharmacy Services (PSPC) Collaborative. 

He is Medical Administrator for the Illinois Department of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse, providing leadership and guidance on clinical integration among primary care and mental health organizations. Loafman is a founding member and Chair of the Board of Certification in Family Medicine–Obstetrics. He serves on the Health Futures Group at National Defense University in Washington DC in the role of subject matter expert and advisor on national and global health strategy. 

After graduating with honors from Rush University Medical School he completed a Family Medicine residency and Maternal Child health fellowship at Brown University. Loafman helped lead development of several innovative underserved, community–based comprehensive clinic networks and health professions training programs, including the nationally recognized Northwestern McGaw Family Medicine Residency in Humboldt Park. 

He led development and served as the first medical director for the PCC Community Wellness Center on Chicago's west side. He has extensive leadership experience in public health, community medicine, community health centers, safety net hospitals, health systems quality and safety, and across many levels of medical education.
