AHRQ Signals Intent To Support Research Aimed at Reducing Racial and Ethnic Disparities

An upcoming Notice of Funding Opportunity from AHRQ will describe the Agency's plans to support research on disseminating and implementing patient-centered outcomes research findings to reduce healthcare disparities. According to a recent Notice of Intent, interventions will focus on reducing disparities by wide-scale implementation of evidence-based care. Grant applicants may propose interventions in different healthcare settings. Areas where interventions have evidence for decreasing disparities include promoting improved cancer and chronic condition screening, improving control of chronic conditions, and improving prenatal care, maternal health, and infant mortality.
