Semifinalists Chosen in AHRQ’s Social Determinants of Health Challenge

AHRQ has selected 12 semifinalists from Phase 1 of the AHRQ Visualization Resources of Community-Level Social Determinants of Health Challenge.

Phase 1 semifinalists receive $10,000 and advance into Phase 2 to develop proofs of concept, which an expert panel will judge.

One grand-prize winner will win $50,000. Up to $35,000 will be awarded to the 2nd-place winner, and up to $15,000 will be awarded to the 3rd-place winner based on the performance of their visualization tools.
More than 40 participants entered the challenge, which called for the development of online tools to present and encourage the use of free, publicly available social determinants of health data to better understand and predict communities’ unmet healthcare needs.
