Health Care Marketing and Implementation of Patient Safety Products (Academic Detailing)

Description:
The National Campaign on Medication Adherence supports implementation of an action plan by the National Consumers League to educate consumers about the importance of adhering to medications as prescribed.

Outreach to Academic Health Professional Institutions
Description:
The purpose of this project is to implement the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommendations into the teaching setting of primary care health professional academic institutions. Primary care health profession students will learn to use the recommendations in both academic settings and clinical practice.

Outreach to Health Professional and Education Groups to Implement USPSTF Recommendations
Description:
The purpose of this project is to increase awareness and implementation of USPSTF recommendations and methods among health professional and education groups (students, trainees, and practicing clinicians).

- Putting Prevention Into Practice—this course introduces students to the US Preventive Services Task Force, the concepts behind it, and how it can be inserted into patient care through tools like the electronic Preventive Services. The course includes case studies where students are asked to use the ePSS to make decisions on what course of action to take with a patient.

This project continues working with large health systems to implement the AHRQ-funded Project RED (Re-Engineered Hospital Discharge) intervention program and discharge checklist within hospitals while providing necessary technical assistance.
