Qingdao Port Cardiovascular Health Study: a prospective cohort study.
The Qingdao Port Cardiovascular Health Study was designed to investigate the burden of cardiovascular disease and the sociodemographic, biological, environmental and clinical risk factors associated with disease onset and outcomes. Early findings reveal a significant increase in cardiovascular risk factors (hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, and body mass index) from 2000 to 2010.

Association between divorce and risks for acute myocardial infarction.
This study investigated the association between lifetime exposure to divorce and the incidence of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) in US adults. Divorce is a significant risk factor for AMI. It found that the risks associated with multiple divorces are especially high in women and are not reduced with remarriage.

Determinants of cesarean delivery in the US: a lifecourse approach.
The researchers sought to determine whether the effects of preconception stressful life events (PSLEs) on birth weight differed by neighborhood disadvantage. They found that the risk of having very low birthweight infants among women with PSLEs, women with chronic conditions, or minority women was strongest among those living in disadvantaged neighborhoods, which suggests exacerbation of risk within disadvantaged environments.
