Parents' consumer preferences for early childhood behavioral intervention in primary care.
In this study, the investigators sought to better understand parents' preferences for the content and delivery method of behavioral health guidance in pediatric primary care and to determine the relationship of those preferences with demographic characteristics, child behavior problems, and parenting style. The investigators found that most parents were interested in behavioral guidance as part of primary care, but their preferences for the content and delivery of that guidance varied by known socioeconomic, child, and parenting risk factors.

Roles and role ambiguity in patient- and caregiver-performed outpatient parenteral antimicrobial therapy.
This study examined roles and role ambiguity in patient- and caregiver-performed outpatient parenteral antimicrobial therapy (OPAT). A qualitative study of patients and caregivers was conducted using 40 semistructured telephone interviews and 20 contextual inquiries for patients and caregivers. The participants had been discharged from two academic medical centers and put on OPAT. Four main roles were identified: communicator, advocate, learner-trainer, and lay health care worker. There was ambiguity shown among health care workers as well as patients and caregivers. Clearer delineation of roles as to who performs which tasks was indicated in the study.

Effect of collaborative dementia care via telephone and internet on quality of life, caregiver well-being, and health care use: the Care Ecosystem randomized clinical trial.
Few health systems have adopted effective dementia care management programs. The Care Ecosystem is a model for delivering care from centralized hubs across broad geographic areas to caregivers and persons with dementia (PWDs) independently of their health system affiliations. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the Care Ecosystem was effective in improving outcomes important to PWDs, their caregivers, and payers beyond those achieved with usual care.

Caregiver and health care provider perspectives on cloud-based shared care plans for children with medical complexity.
Shared care plans play an essential role in coordinating care across health care providers and settings for children with medical complexity (CMC). However, existing care plans often lack shared ownership, are out-of-date, and lack universal accessibility. In this study, the investigators aimed to establish requirements for shared care plans to meet the information needs of caregivers and providers and to mitigate current information barriers when caring for CMC.

Feasibility of implementing group well baby/well woman dyad care at federally qualified health centers.
The aim of this qualitative study was to assess stakeholder perspectives on the feasibility of implementing Centering Parenting (CP) in federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) in Baltimore. The investigators concluded that perceptions regarding facilitators and barriers to CP implementation in FQHCs were similar to existing group well-child care literature; however the benefit of emphasis on maternal wellness was a unique finding. The investigators suggested that a maternal wellness integration might make CP a particularly desirable model for implementation at FQHCs, but potential systems barriers must be addressed.

Translating behavior change techniques to new delivery mediums.
The translation of successful behavior change interventions to new delivery mechanisms requires an understanding of the underlying concepts that led to its success. A communication module within a multi-user telehealth kiosk is used as an example of how behavior change techniques from a "live" intervention may be represented in an information technology-delivered intervention.

A Blue Ocean strategy for palliative care: focus on family caregivers.
The authors argue that there is an undeniable societal need (or high consumer value) for some entity to ensure that family caregivers stay healthy not only so they can provide the best care possible to patients, but also for their own sake. They believe palliative care should rise to meet this societal need and take on family caregivers as a new focus of its specialized care.
