Identifying effective approaches for dissemination of clinical evidence--correlation analyses on promotional activities and usage of a guideline-driven interactive case simulation tool in a statewide HIV-HCV-STD clinical education program.
The investigators analyzed correlations between promotional activities and usage of a guideline-driven interactive case simulation tool (ICST) for insomnia screening and treatment in a statewide HIV-HCV-STD clinical education program. They found that promotional activities were strongly correlated with the number of audience as well as the intensity of use of the target resource, with strong correlations identified between the sending of email newsletters and the intensity of resource use by promotion recipients, by new users, and through the most convenient access channel associated with the promotion.

Disrupted sleep is associated with altered pain processing by sex and ethnicity in knee osteoarthritis.
This study examines the association between sleep disruption with increased pain sensitivity and enhanced pain facilitation in addition to reduced pain inhibition in persons with chronic pain such as knee OA. It found that disrupted sleep was associated with altered pain processing by sex and ethnicity/race.

Breastfeeding in African Americans may not depend on sleep arrangement: a mixed-methods study.
The researchers described the association between breastfeeding and bedsharing, elucidating barriers to breastfeeding in African Americans. They found that lower socioeconomic status mothers were more likely to breastfeed exclusively or at all if they bedshared; however, bedsharing was not associated with breastfeeding among higher socioeconomic status mothers. Breast pain, lack of support, and maternal skepticism about breastfeeding benefits were barriers.
