National Quality Measures Clearinghouse™ (NQMC)
The NQMC is a database and Web site for information on specific evidence-based health care quality measures and measure sets. The NQMC is sponsored by AHRQ to promote widespread access to quality measures by the health care community and other interested individuals.
The NQMC mission is to provide an accessible mechanism for obtaining detailed information on quality measures, and to further their dissemination, implementation, and use in order to inform health care decisions.
The NQMC provides structured, standardized summaries containing information about measures and their development, for each measure that meets NQMC criteria for inclusion. The summaries are prepared by a dedicated team using the NQMC Template of Measure Attributes and associated Domain Framework, Glossary Classification Scheme, Naming Convention, and Measure Hierarchy.
The NQMC site also has expert commentaries, tutorials on quality measures, and NQMC-specific technical assistance videos. Users can find content using the measure matrix feature and/or multiple browse and search options. Users can also generate comparisons of measures; submit measures and comments on the posted expert commentaries; and create their own experience with the site through the MyNQMC feature.
NQMC is designed for practitioners, health care providers, health plans, integrated delivery systems, purchasers, and others interested in health care quality measurement.
The NQMC works with an Expert Panel and an Editorial Board.
