Goals/Purpose:
The main objective of this project was to bridge the gaps in patient safety identified in the AHRQ’s Technical Brief Number 27: Patient Safety in Ambulatory Settings, which identified differences between inpatient and ambulatory safety, as well as areas of research that may identify strategies to improve patient safety in ambulatory settings.
Specific Aims:
- Develop and implement a clinical decision support (CDS) tool for community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) in ambulatory care settings, including an emergency department and a primary care practice, and to create an implementation toolkit to guide future adoption of the CDS in similar healthcare environments.
