Goals/Purpose:
The primary aim of this project was to conduct a conference to develop an emergency department-specific framework to study communication in the diagnostic decision-making process.
Specific Aims:
- Investigate existing frameworks and adapt them to the emergency department setting by obtaining consensus around one unifying framework in collaboration with frontline providers (physicians, nurses, etc.), patient representatives, and national experts on patient safety.
