Premature deaths per capita are age-adjusted numbers of deaths per 100,000 population among residents under age 75. County quartiles in this map compare each county’s premature death rate per capita against other counties within the nation. Dark blue areas indicate the highest levels of premature death rates. Educational Attainment and Premature Deaths
Premature death rates are lower in populations with higher educational levels.
