NPSD Chartbooks
The Network of Patient Safety Databases (NPSD) Chartbooks provide an overview of the patient safety data captured in the NPSD through the AHRQ Common Formats for Event Reporting (CFER) and highlight patterns and trends in the data. The Chartbooks represent the results of analyses designed to characterize the nature of patient safety events in hospital settings and represent initial attempts to collect this type of comprehensive data on a national scale. They examine data for topics that cut across the multiple modules in the AHRQ Common Formats for Event Reporting for Hospitals (CFER-H, versions 1.1 and 1.2), including generic safety concerns and adverse events involving blood or blood products, falls, devices and medical/surgical supply, medication and other substances, perinatal incidents, and pressure ulcers.
