Data

Quantifying and providing insight into the opioid epidemic.

AHRQ data and analytics track healthcare at the level of individual patients, care settings, and systems.  AHRQ’s largest data sources, including the Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project (HCUP) and the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS) collect a wealth of information that help expand the knowledge base on opioids.

This allows AHRQ to produce rapid analyses of real world trends in opioid related treatment and in-depth research to understand what is driving those trends.

AHRQ presents this data through statistical briefs, online resources, and data analyses.
