Updates From the CHSP Initiative
2024
AHRQ has released new versions of the Compendium of U.S. Health systems, updating data files for 2022, 2021, and 2020. The Compendium provides data on the characteristics and organization of all 640 health systems in the United States as of 2022. Additions to the Compendium include:
- Medicare Advantage contract numbers (2022, 2021, and 2020 files),
- Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant counts (now in 2022, 2021, and 2020 files),
- Ownership types for systems and hospitals (2021 and 2020 files), and
- Revenue data for system and hospitals (2021 and 2020 files).
These updates provide even greater insights into the structure and operations of healthcare systems, enabling researchers to better understand how these organizations affect care delivery in the United States. The Compendium data files and documentation are available at https://www.ahrq.gov/chsp/data-resources/compendium.html.
