Summary

On December 6, AHRQ's CAHPS program hosted a free webcast that reviewed recent results from the CAHPS Child Hospital Survey (Child HCAHPS) Database and introduced a new narrative item set. Speakers provided an overview of the Child HCAHPS Survey, including highlights from current data, steps for and benefits of future participation, and details about the new narrative item set.

Participants learned:

• Details about the Child HCAHPS Survey, including recommended administration procedures
• How to submit Child HCAHPS data to the CAHPS Database
• Key findings from the current Child HCAHPS Database and reasons to submit data in 2024
• How hospitals can use the new Child Hospital Narrative Item Set to identify actionable opportunities that will improve the experiences of pediatric patients and their families
