Development and Pilot Test for the SOPS Medical Office Survey 2.0 and Workplace Safety Supplemental Items
AHRQ is currently developing an update of the Surveys on Patient Safety Culture® (SOPS®) Medical Office Survey and new Workplace Safety Supplemental Items. The SOPS Medical Office Survey 2.0 will be shorter than the current 1.0 survey, with some revised and new items. The new Workplace Safety Supplemental Items will focus on the extent to which a medical office’s culture supports workplace safety for providers and staff.
AHRQ Seeks Medical Offices to Participate in a Pilot Test
AHRQ seeks medical offices to participate in a pilot test of the SOPS Medical Office Survey 2.0 and Workplace Safety Supplemental Items in Spring/Summer 2026. If selected, participating medical offices will receive:
- Free survey administration of the SOPS Medical Office Survey 2.0 with Workplace Safety Supplemental Items to medical office providers and staff in Spring/Summer 2026.
- Feedback reports comparing your office’s survey results to other pilot sites.
- Action planning and improvement resources.
- Automatic inclusion of your results, for national benchmarking, in the next AHRQ SOPS Medical Office Database.
